Drugstore Make Up Starter Kit For Beginners ~ February 18th 2017

Face

~ Anew Essential: Youth Maximising Serum
Avon, 30ml, £12.00
This is a great primer which eliminates pores and firms skin, it leaves a beautiful glow and smoothens skin.

~ Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
Boots, 22ml, £7.99
This is perfect for an airbrushed base although can become greasy and takes a while to set - although the end product looks fab!

~ Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation
Superdrug, 30ml, £7.99
One of the best drugstore foundations for beginners as it is easy to blend with a brush or beauty blender and has medium coverage. You only need one pump for an even base and has a lovely floral smell.

~ Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer
ASOS, 7ml, £5.99
A beautiful way to highlight and conceal on your dark circles and T-zone. Looks flawless with Match Perfection Foundation or can even be used on its own. Glowy and dewy finish, by far one of the best concealers I have used so far.

~ Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer
Fragrance direct, 5ml, £3.99
One of the most raved about drugstore concealers in the UK, great at hiding spots, acne scars and dark circles. My one problem with this is that it does dry on on dry patches and can sometimes oxidise, other than that it's the perfect concealer for beginners.

~ Rimmel London Stay Matte Translucent Pressed Powder
Boots, 3.99
A great product for people with oily skin or for people who want a matte finish that lasts all day. By far the best drugstore pressed powder for any skin type that doesn't dry out on dry skin or start to separate on oily skin.

~ L'Oreal Paris Le Blush
Boots, £6.99
By far my favourite range of drugstore blushes, shimmery to matte, bright pink to subtle nudes, I'm sure there'll be a shade for you. My personal favourites are Nectarine and Rose in Love. The formula is very creamy and pigmented so a lot goes a long way. The blush also comes with a mirror and a brush (although the brush is rather coarse and slightly streaky so best used with a real techniques blush brush).

~ Revolution Ultra Blush Palette All About Bronze
TAM Beauty, 8 Shades, £6.00
Revolution is one of my favourite make up brands and are pretty much all i use as eyeshadow, this palette is perfect for light to medium skin with three beautiful shimmery bronzers and five matte warm toned bronzers although they can be used to contour. It is very pigmented so it's best to start off with a light hand and to build it up and the lightest shade is perfect for highlight.

Eyes

~ Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 1
TAM Beauty, 12 Eyeshadows, £4.00
A perfect palette for when you're on a budget, with 12 gorgeous colours full of pigment (although the black shade was a bit of a let down on pigmentation). This is great for day to night eye looks, with no boundaries, from a natural day look to a smokey eye there are so many looks you can create with this palette.

~ Rimmel London Magnif' Eyes 001 Keep Calm and Wear Gold
Boots, 8 Eyeshadows, £7.99
One of my favourite drugstore eye palettes, with beautiful golden tones with matte and shimmery shadows. This is great if you just want to keep it all natural or with only a hint of glam. Easy to blend it only takes minutes to create a beautiful eye look. Slight fallout when too much is added on the brush or if a dense brush is used, my favourite brushes to use with these shadows is the Real Techniques Base and Crease Eyeshadow Brushes.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner
Boots, £5.99
If you want a dramatic wing or just a natural flick this eyeliner is perfect, long lasting and easy to make detail with the ultra fine tip. This is great for people new to eye liner.

~ Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara
Boots, 9ml, £7.99
A great dupe for the benefit roller lash instantly lifts and darkens eye lashes. I personally have very straight eye lashes which tend to only last 5 minutes with mascara before going straight again but this lasts for hours and makes you look more awake and your lashes longer and thicker without clumping.

Lips

~ Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit Pose
Boots, £6.99
A beautiful nude pink, completely matte with no transfer and no visible dry or chapped skin on your lips if worn with Aloe Vera Lip Balm underneath. My one problem with this is that it does slightly flake when you eat or drink.

~ Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick
Boots, £7.99
A gorgeous plum colour perfect for a night out. It has a beautiful glossy shine and looks gorgeous with a small layer of Make Up Gallery Dare To Bare lipgloss on top.

~ Baby Lips Dr Rescue Too Cool
Superdrug, £2.99
For all day moisture and a glossy shine Baby Lips are perfect for all day hydration. They also help with chapped and dry lips and aren't irritant or waxy. They're perfect for Beginners as they are subtle and look gorgeous.

Brushes

~ Real Techniques Stippling Brush
Boots, £11.99

~ Core Collection
Boots, £21.99

~ Real Techniques Starter Set
Boots, £21.99

~ Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Superdrug, £5.99
